Une ambiance chaleureuse au coin de la cheminée et un service au top. Ce dîner était succulent. Je recommande ce restaurant. Il n’y a pas beaucoup de choix mais les plats sont préparés avec des produits frais et locaux. Une vrai découverte gustative entre le steak de renne et la glace au fromage brun de lofoten.

This place is truly a hidden gem of the trip. The food tastes great, with generous portions, making it an excellent value for the price—we absolutely loved it. Fishes of the day dish is absolutely amazing. The location is scenic, and the atmosphere is unforgettable.

We celebrated my wife’s 40th birthday at Gammelbua in Reine, and it was truly unforgettable. The atmosphere was spectacular and romantic — the perfect setting for a special evening. The food and wine were both outstanding, and every dish we tried was absolutely delicious. The service was warm and attentive, and they even surprised us with a birthday dessert and candle, which made the night extra memorable. Gammelbua went above and beyond to make it a dinner to remember — highly recommend!

We were excited to dine here, and it absolutely lived up to our expectations. Choosing from the menu was tough, as everything looked tempting. We eventually tried the stockfish dumpling, smoked whale carpaccio, reindeer steak, halibut filet, brown cheese ice cream, and berry panna cotta.

The food was excellent across the board—our favorite was the reindeer steak, but truly, every dish was delicious. Service was just okay, though to be fair, we arrived close to closing and it felt a bit rushed.

Overall, it was a memorable dinner and a wonderful experience. If you’re in Reine, we definitely recommend stopping here for an evening meal.

Wir hatten Rentiertatar als Vorspeise und Wal und Rentier als Hauptspeise und alles war hervorragend zubereitet und sehr schmackhaft. Das Servicepersonal war sehr freundlich, so dass wir uns den ganzen Abend sehr wohl gefühlt haben. Wir können das Restaurant uneingeschränkt empfehlen und würden dort wieder zum Essen hingehen.

It’s a restaurant part of the lodging we stayed at. We had to book a reservation for dinner time, otherwise you had to wait 50 minutes. We had to try the stockfish as this was what fishermen from Reine village fished the most back in the day!

We loved the atmosphere, food was pretty decent, nice presentation and service was great but i just think it’s too expensive for the flavor… but there is no other food option around the neighborhood so I get it 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️

Sind nun schon seit einer Woche im Norden Norwegens unterwegs. Es war mit Abstand das beste Essen, das wie auf dieser Reise gegessen haben - und es lag nicht einer einer besonders niedrigen Benchmark. Top Fisch und sehr netter Service. Einzig der Hinweis wie lange man bleiben "darf" (Seating timeslot) war nicht so toll. Trotzdem sehr empfehlenswert!
